An Amazing Easter and April

Posted on
April 12, 2026

Hi everyone and welcome to another post from your favourite blogging Méribel Ski Instructor. There's no denying that spring is in full flow now, but it is a funny old season isn't it? In my previous article, I wrote about how amazing the snow conditions were through the month of March, and this theme very much continued into the Easter period and deep into April. All photos taken in the last couple of weeks or so.

Here are Maddie, George, Jamie and Alastair enjoying the winter conditions.

Late March and early April are often anticipated as warm and sunny skiing experiences. This would normally be the case, for example skiing a long morning, having a late lunch on a sunny terrace somewhere, before a slushy ski back down off the mountain (maybe even downloading on a ski lift). A bit different this year! The chilly and snowy weather continued through leading up to the Easter weekend.

Here's Bilaal picking up new skiing skills; he had never been skiing before and was blown away by this new environment.

It really has been an extraordinary final few weeks to the (almost) end to this ski season. A winter that just kept giving. Not only with very decent snow conditions, but also with the atmospheric scenery we were treated to. It's been a real privilege to experience, and one that I'm very grateful for.

Having said that, the last few days have been extremely warm, something that April can also surprise us with. In Méribel we've had almost a week of temperatures nudging 19 degrees. And the other day I visited Annecy, where it felt like mid-summer with 25 degrees, with plenty of people sunbathing on the shores of the beautiful lake there.

I'm taking several days off skis now, after a mammoth winter. I ended up working way more hours than normal, in fact the most for well over ten years! I might squeeze a final ski in before the ski lifts close this coming Friday. Then it will be time to close up the apartment, and make my way back to Blighty several days after that. Keep an eye on the socials in the meantime, you never know what might pop up! Live With Passion. Martin.
